This year is Mike Shaffer’s first season in SCORE class 4 competition, as was the case with his 3 JeepSpeed Class Championships, on BF Goodrich tires, the official tire of SCORE International.

This year’s 705 mile course begins in Ensenada on Friday, November 17th and finishes in Ensenada, passing through 6 mandatory checkpoints. Teams will have 32 hours to complete the course. The all volunteer TORCHMATE crew has come together from across the United States, cashing in vacation time at work, to conquer the mexican desert and rise to the logistical and mechanical challenges that come with racing the SCORE Baja 1000.
