While at KOH, Mike Shaffer and the Shaffer-motorsports team found willing help at Fox Racing Shox when it was time to start working on getting 1066 into top racing shape.
During Parker 425 race, driver and co-drivers where put to the endurance test by a poorly setup suspension. “I even had a class 8 passed me in the woops” Mike said “it was impossible to drive any faster without breaking the car or ourselves”.
After two day of adjustings… “it was more than just shocks turning, some wrenches and swapping a few springs got it working better” Berne wrote on Pirate4x4… the car improved from a paltry 43 mph to impressive 87 mph in one of the test sections. Have a look at the “after” videos [updated]:
